How to save window configuration?

Is it possible to reopen a micro window with all the buffers & term placed in the vsplits & hsplits saved, pre-configured or passed as arguments?

No, there is no such functionality in micro.

Perhaps it's possible to implement it in a plugin.

For what it's worth, there is savecursor option for saving the cursor position in the given file (so that when you open this file next time, the cursor is not at the beginning of the file but at this position). But that's a different thing...

The closest what there is: the multiopen option allows to specify how to layout multiple files when you specify multiple files at the command line: in separate tabs, vertically split or horizontally split. And since option values can also be specified via the command line, you can for example open 3 files in 3 vertical split panes via the following command line:

micro -multiopen=vsplit 1.txt 2.txt 3.txt

But that doesn't allow specifying more complex layouts than just all panes split vertically or all panes split horizontally.
