I've read much about the ability of rebuilding iOS/iPadOS apps on macOS using Mac Catalyst. Would it be possible to build this app for macOS intel too? There's a complete lack of tvheadend client for macOS

hey, it would be possible but I would need to redo the whole app from scratch.
I would say to use Kodi, that should work for macOS if you need a client.
otherwise you could use vlc directly as well!
