Different rendering of existing sequence. #5194
Comments
Additional information: It appears to be related to the "subtractive" layer blending option in my case. By removing that option or the effect that has the option the props are rendering as expected. |
Confirmed .. this is the ISPC code ..hoping Dan has a handle on the blending issue here. I have attached a cut of the above sequence paired with a vid effect to compare bad with good. |
Please remove the sequence that you posted above or disable the access to the google link. Thanks. |
Additional, additional information, along with related issue #5195, I have discovered that buffer edits will show in the model preview window, but not in the house preview window. |

Describe the bug
The original render of certain props changes in 2025.03
In the linked sequence at 2:30.300 the mega trees (Tree, Tree2, Tree3) and other props have multiple layers.
The top layer is a Wave.
When you click on the wave (or any layer), the model window auto renders and it is different than what it was.
Import the sequence in an earlier version of xLights (pre 2025.03). Because if you render this sequence in 2025.03 the bug will not show.
Upgrade to 2025.03
play the sequence and advance to 2:30 (it may exist sooner, but this is where I noticed it)
observe the mega trees. They should be a bluish purple with major masking going on.
Click on any layer of the mega tree.
The auto render will change.
Versions (please complete the following information):
If the mega tree at 2:30 to the end is not a bluish purple, I can point you to a video of the actual show that has a good representation of what it looked like in 2024.16

You are on your honor not to steal this sequence. Ron will get mad at me if you do.
