NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT ATTACH A SEQUENCE THAT DEMONSTRATES YOUR PROBLEM THEN THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY YOUR ISSUE WILL JUST BE CLOSED AND NOT INVESTIGATED.

Describe the bug

when i right click timing and hit add timing I do not get the popup to select what timing I want to use.

I have to force shutdown xlights.

My best guess is the dialog is appearing on another monitor that is maybe not attached. You may need to reset window locations.

So you tried resetting windows locations and it didnt work? Or you just ignored my advice and are complaining.

I will wear criticism for not saying how to reset. As for the rest if you look you never actually said you tried resetting them. What else I am meant to think?

Or could it be you are using this new option:

Somewhat confusingly it does not actually add a timing track (and hence no popup) but instead just adds the existing timing tracks to other views.

I dont actually think you are using it as this would not demonstrate the lockup behaviour you describe.

As for the Add timing track option the code is designed to put the dialog wherever the mouse is. Nothing I can see has changed in that recently.

When creating a new seq. I use add timing to use plugins that will show the beats. Here is a video https://youtu.be/u4fmYTZNqV4?si=eyxTfTtLQXa1uOMv xlight gems to explain it

Try a different approach (of course the other should work) .. but go to file->sequence settings then Timings.. now click new.
This pops up the same popup.

I have tried this also. It does the same as the normal way. I'll just continue to use the previous version and hope it gets fixed in next release.
