xLights 2025.12 on MacOS crashes consistently when selecting FPP Connect.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start xLights, no need to load any sequence
  2. Click on 'Tools ~> FPP Connect"
  3. xLights will crash
  4. See error attached

Expected behavior
FPP Connect should load all available entities.

Versions:

  • OS: MacOS Monterey 12.7.6 (21H1320) on MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)
  • xLights version 2025.1 for MacOS

I doesn't crash for me on my regualr show folder, but it does with your setup. In your setup, you don't have any FPP-able items. Do you a) actually have a PI/FPP and b) if you do, is it connected... c) are one or any of thse controllers on when you try this?

I do have one FPP server available on the network and is is up and running. I rolled back to 2024.19 and it does not crash. Please let me know if you want me to try anything else.

It is not configured in the controllers tab. 2025.2 should be out shortly. You can use the Discover buttont o discover your player, or set it up as FPP/Player Only and restart xLights and see if it still crashes. Put in a fix, but that won't be until .3 since .2 was jsut repleased this AM.

OK got it, I just did a Discover and added the FPP server. FPP Connect still crashes (2025.1), new bundle attached.

Did you restart xlights after the Discover? Try on a newly started xlights with FPP already configured.

Yep, I restarted xLights and it keeps happening.

An interesting thing to note is that if I turn my Wifi off (so no network and nothing to be found), it still crashes.

Okay.. would have expected that to work. There's a fix in place for next version for this.
