Simple and Small QRSS Beacon for Sprite pico-balloon Project
Oberon.ino - QRSS (slow speed CW) Beacon for PicoBallon using Si5351a and ATTINY85(ultimately)
Oberon is the mythical king of the fairies who appears as a character in William Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Nights Dream". This code was written during Midsummer of 2020 for project Sprite, so the name seemed appropriate.
The majority of this code is derived from the QRSS/FSKCW/DFCW Beacon Keyer by Hans Summers, G0UPL(copyright 2012) and used with his permission for this derivitive work. The original source code is from here : https://qrp-labs.com/images/qrssarduino/qrss.ino
Adapted by Michael, VE3WMB to use the Si5351a as a transmitter for Orion WSPR Beacon and to be ported to ATTINY85 for the Sprite QRSS PicoBallon Project. Public domain Si5351a code written by Gerry, KE7ER is also used.
The transmit_glyph() function was provided by Graham, VE3GTC.

Version History
-
v0.01 Initial prototype submission, runs on Arduino UNO/QRP Labs Arduino Shield, with Si5351a Synthesizer board.
-
v0.02 Split out user defines into OberonConfig.h to make it easier to use different hardware configurations by just substituting a new config file.
-
v0.03 Add functionality to support ATTINY85 processor. This includes a new parameter in OberonConfig.h called TARGET_PROCESSOR_ATTINY85. When this new parameter is #defined conditional compilation pulls in TinyWireM.h library instead of the standard Wire.h library.
-
v0.04 Support Software I2C for ATMEGA328p using SoftWire.h and Software Serial for debug using NeoSWSerial.h. This allows Oberon to run on U3S clone boards
-
v0.05 Add support for additional message buffers using the new pointer (char *g_tx_msg_ptr), so that QRSS and regular CW transmissions can have different text.
-
v0.06 Code cleanup to remove unused variables and to enforce incompatibility of OBERON_DEBUG MODE and TARGET_PROCESSOR_ATTINY85 until debugSerial is supported
- sort out RX/TX PIN definitions on the ATTINY85 to allow debugSerial via NeoSWSerial to be used. (Current limitation debugSerial not working for ATTINY85).
