Botryllus schlosseri Nickel Toxciity

Background

Four experiments were completed in Autumn 2023 at a high and low dose of nickel chloride (5 and 45 mg L^-^) on field sourced Botryllus schlosseri.

Objectives

a) Evaluate the impact of nickel on expression of genes relating to oxidative stress, senescence, stemness, and apoptosis.

b) Quantify nickel uptake in Botryllus.

c) Determine LC50.

d) Evaluate antioxidant response in Botryllus.
