Can we have the ability to add and fire infrared commands using the IR blaster of the device (popular example being Xiaomi phones)?

Use case: having an alternative of something like Mi Remote, with the ability to place my buttons anywhere I like :)

Reference(s):

  • regulad/SupIR: It's a cool app, uses community sourced database for remote commands but it only lets you use one button/command at a time.

Thanks for the suggestion

I don’t think it would be possible for this app to handle that use case. The idea behind this app is to create protocol-agnostic control pads that users can switch between anytime, and represent commands in a standard format that any receiving side can interpret their own way. So, users would have to explicitly write scripts to receive and process messages from DroidPad. Unfortunately, with IR devices, those devices typically process predefined commands in specific formats, which doesn’t quite fit with how the app works.
