Customizable Navigation and Object Visibility

Scope & Context

We would like to request improving the navigation and object organization in Twenty CRM.
The ticket is about allowing users to reorder objects in the left-hand navigation panel and hide any standard or custom objects they do not need.

Current behavior

Currently, the navigation panel follows a fixed order for objects, and users cannot rearrange them.
Users also cannot hide standard objects they do not use, cluttering the interface with unnecessary items.

Expected behavior

Users should be able to:

• Drag and reorder objects in the left-hand navigation panel to match their workflow.
• Hide any standard or custom objects that are not relevant to their use case.
• Customize their view to improve efficiency and reduce clutter.
• Disable objects as well as hide them, from the settings menu.

For example:

• A user who primarily works with Leads and Deals should be able to place them at the top.
• A team that does not use the standard Opportunity object should be able to hide it.
• A company that has custom objects for internal processes should be able to prioritize them over default objects.

Technical inputs

• Implement a drag-and-drop interface for reordering navigation items.
• Create a settings menu where users can choose which objects to display or hide.
• Store user preferences in the database to persist changes across sessions.
• Ensure that hidden objects remain accessible via direct links or search, if needed.
• Ensure that disabled objects remain inaccessible throughout the application, if needed.
