Show first item within shulker box in inventory

Hello, is it possible to do pic related with a datapack?
Not the fill-level bar, but showing the first item that is inside the box?

This pic is from Simple Shulker Preview mod and i found out that it makes me find things faster than having to hover over boxes to see a full content preview.

Something like this could be possible with the new item model system. If I did such a thing, it would definitely be a separate pack.
