Does meiosis have some impact on RNA velocity?

I used my scRNA-seq data of germ cells to run scvelo + cellrank pipeline, but the results of cellrank Identify initial/terminal states did not meets the marker gene expression at all.

Many researches, for example, Single-Cell RNA Sequencing of the Cynomolgus

Profiles during Mammalian Spermatogenesis ran scvelo on only on a subset (only contains germ cells befor meiosis) instead of on the whole dataset ( consists of early germ cells, meiosis germ cells, spermatids...., etc.).

Thus, I really want to know if there is something related to meiosis, interfering such RNA velocity analysis.
