Before we start;

Make sure that your software is all updated (Umbrel/myNode/Raspiblitz) including Relay and Sphinx.

You can find latest version of Sphinx in App Store and in our website.

Android

Android connection is not working over Tor?

• Android requires Orbot (In the Play Store) to establish a connection with Relay over Tor”
• Make sure that you are using Orbot in VPN mode.
• Sphinx app in VPN
• Settings in Orbot, disable “Prefer IPv6 Connections”

Windows

Windows connection is not working over Tor?

• Tor only routes traffic within the browser over TOR. So, Tallow is a more "general" solution that affects all traffic from the Windows machine.
• Make sure that you are using Tallow to route the traffic over Tor.

How to check logs?

For MyNode and Raspiblitz

sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog.1 | grep sphinx

or

sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog | grep sphinx

For Umbrel

To check the logs in your Umbrel, you can log in to your Umbrel dashboard, go to Settings, click on the 3 dots and “view system logs”

Can't see messages in tribes?

There will be two different bolts in Sphinx app;

1. The one next to your sats shows connection status of your node.
2. Other one, appears in chat box of other people or tribes and shows connection status of your node to other nodes.

Is the bolt showing orange or green?

• If it is green, leave the tribe and rejoin.

• If it is orange, it is a routing issue and there might be a few different reasons. Ideal solution would be opening a channel with our nodes and lowering routing fees to 0. Voilá, enjoy free messaging on Sphinx. Detailed instructions can be found here to open a channel; Open a channel manually
