I am the community maintainer of PSScriptAnalyzer, which is the linting and formatting tool for PowerShell that is used in many editors such as e.g. VS-Code and Visual Studio. I also regularly contribute changes upstream to other repositories in the PowerShell organisation, which is mostly for PowerShell itself but also the VS-Code PowerShell extension.

I love making small improvements and fixes to PowerShell and its tooling, especially because I like seeing the positive impact in efficiency on my and other's daily work. My work was and will always a balanced mix between things that I wanted and also implementing other people's good ideas.
However, time and energy are limited, especially for issues that I myself might not be facing or do not reproduce straight away on my machine and therefore I triage incoming bug reports or feature requests depending on severity and priority and can tackle only a subset of them. I intend to still keep contributing & interacting with the community as usual and would like to use GitHub Sponsoring as an opportunity for other people to say thanks and also to get their issues or feature request prioritized. At any point in time, GitHub will let you cancel your sponsorship with no questions being asked if you only want to sponsor me for a select number of months.

🍫 Every little helps and is appreciated. Unlike most other programmers, I run on chocolate (not just caffeine), so getting a sweet snack will help me keep my thoughts clearer when debugging or writing some difficult code. Thanks 😊!

☕ Being able to get a nice coffee on the way to work will wake me up enough to open my laptop during the morning train commute for some quick coding/debugging or answering questions during triage.

🍔 A burger on the way home from work will give me some more energy to open my laptop during the train commute for some quick coding/debugging or answering questions during triage, which is likely going to extent into the evening when I'm home as I like to finish things.

🍕 Thanks for getting me a takeaway after a work day so that I can dedicate my time to open source. If you have a specific issue that you would like me to look into a bit more or explain various workarounds in more details, I'm very happy to do that. If you have your own question (even if it's just around usage), I'm happy to answer that as well.

🐛 At this tier, I'll take more time to investigate/debug a specific issue that is not easy to reproduce or understand. It's possible that there can be an easy solution as an outcome (if feasible) ranging from a PR to a workaround. In some cases a solution might require a more complex feature or fix to be implemented first that could be out of scope.

You will get a shout-out on Twitter (unless you don't want to), this way you will also make the software better by reporting issues to me and working with me on a fix that will hopefully be made upstream.

🚀 Feature implementation:
Did you ever wish that PowerShell or tool X did Y? Let's talk and make it happen.
This tier allows enough time for 1 feature request of reasonable size (a couple of hours of research & development) per month. I will be generous and reasonable and I'm not a clockwatcher, where possible I may even be able to squeeze 2 features into it.

You will get a shout-out on Twitter (unless you don't want to) for helping improve the software.

💪 Medium sized feature:
Thanks for making the PowerShell ecosystem better with your idea, which could e.g. be a new VS-Code PowerShell setting, a simple PSSA rule or removing a false positive scenario of UseDeclaredVarsMoreThanAssignments. Alternatively I am also happy to have it broken down into smaller features, fixes or mix & match.

🦈 Big feature:
Let's go and catch a big fish! This could be trying to drastically improve the false positives of the UseDeclaredVarsMoreThanAssignments PSScriptAnalyzer rule.

I will make sure to set a couple of days aside for a bigger feature or fixes that you'd like to discuss and setup an Agile execution plan that we can discuss via video chat. I will share early prototypes with you by showing demos and giving out private and exclusive builds.

I will mention you explicitly in my talks.
