ASM 2142 3142 Only Running Half Speed 5gbps 5gb/s instead of 10gbps 10gb/s

1. Make sure to update the firmware. Please note the device version, the firmware version will look like
   
2. Make sure to install the latest driver. This time I used DriverVer=04/12/2017, 1.16.47.2
   Asmedia_2142_win_116472.zip
3. I put all the files here for you. launch Administrator command prompt and type "asmtool flash_read". The program will dump your existing firmware to a file called dump.bin. You can read this in the code.
   ASM3142MPTool_V1122.zip
4. Right click ASM3142_MPTool.exe and Run as Administrator
5. Unlock MP tool with asmedia password
6. Check FW upgrade enable
7. check FW Check Enable
8. click Firmware Browser, select the file. In the zip I provided for 3142 and 2142 devices this is 230802_70_02_40_patched.bin
9. Click Start
10. Wait full 30 seconds
11. it will say PASS
12. Reboot

I created the 230802_70_02_40_patched.bin using ASMTool command "asmtool fw_set_type 230802_70_02_40.bin 3142"
You can read the code, the ternary expression means "if true set this, else this"

TEST THE USB SPEED WITH CRYSTAL DISK MARK. HD TUNE PRO GIVES FALSE SPEED, 450MB/S, CRYSTAL FULL SPEED.

@smx-smx i combine all the steps for people, i had to chase down files today to make it working.

Last Note: also make sure your USB cable is GOOD. I have seen many times bad USB cable. Lucky for SS it usually defaults to USB 2.0 which is obvious something is wrong.
