Does ist make sense to use the transferring-photos-between-immich-servers example for local user merging?

After a while, my wife and i came to the decision to migrate our users.
We have tried partner sharing but there are several reasons why we could migrate our users.

She only created a test album once and mapped a few faces. But she has a lot of pictures.

The idea now would be to use the example from the main readme.md:

So it would be like this:

immich-go upload from-immich --from-server=http://local-source-ip:2283 --from-api-key=source-api-key-user1 --server=http://local-source-ip:2283 --api-key=destination-api-key-user2

Is there anything against this idea? Will meta data be preserved?

That's an interesting question.
I haven't checked this possibility yet. Metadata should be preserved, except faces and face's names.

I have received a few reports mentioning some internal errors due to the existence of a photo in the partner's account. This is under investigation.

I disabled partner lib sharing before. Is there a chance to log internal errors to check them afterwards?

It's unclear yet if disabling partner sharing is enough.

You can increase the log level and trace the API call of immich-go --log-level=DEBUG --api-trace
