I am author of CPU-A which use identify.library to show info about system.
I was reported by user about wrong system identification A2000 is shown as A600.
This A2000 has some expansion boards:

  • Buddha Flash
  • Oktagon 2008
  • Vampire 500 v2
  • Prelude sound card
    WhichAmiga detects this system correctly.
Here are some screenshots from my app, and also from Huh? (other app using identify.library), and from WhichAmiga.

Thank you for writing CPU-A! 😄

At the moment, an Amiga 600 is detected if the machine has a "card.resource", but does not have the AGA chipset. I guess that one of the expansion boards of the A2000 brought the "card.resource", which is confusing identify.

I have to find a better way to detect an Amiga 600, e.g. by checking if there is a GAYLE chip present. I found the GAYLE specs, but cound not see a reliable way to find out if the chip is present or not. Another good guess is if there are Zorro expansions present, which makes it very likely an Amiga 2000.

Shred,

Perhaps check for the presence of Buster to detect an A2000?
