Agree a File input / drop zone component is needed. Maybe something similar to Helix's File input. |

Totally agree. Would ya’ll mind adding your 👍 to #118 so I can track it there? I think file inputs are the most thumbed up feature so that’s probably next on my list. Thanks! |

My ears perked up when seeing on another thread that file inputs were on the Shoelace backlog, so I just thought I'd throw this out there:
I currently reach for Dropzone for a decent upload UX, but the API feels pretty old and clunky these days (and styling is very challenging). I'd love a component that has a nice little bounding box you could click on or could support drag'n'drop, and then it would either (a) trigger an upload on the spot (maybe autosubmit an sl-form?), or (b) show a list of the chosen files ready for upload. Then it could either spin up or connect to a progress bar component to indicate upload progress. Obviously I know the exact upload mechanism would be up to the developer/backend solution of choice, but if Shoelace could handle all the spit 'n' polish of the UI/animations (with lovely CSS variables/parts for styling tweaks), that would blow my mind. =)
