What is a "filled input"?

I've searched online for a "filled" attribute for input controls, but this appears to be a Shoelace thing. I've opened the codepen and played with the attribute, but I don't see anything change. So what is it?

It's a style variant, e.g. filled, outlined, unstyled. Here are a few other libraries that also have them:

OH! The fill was the same color as the page background so it wasn't visible as such. Got it. Thank you.
