I was working in the Beta Grid. I came back to the SL grid and was sitting around with friends. Suddenly, one of the friend's name changed. I asked: oh, why did you change your name? She said that she hadn't. I showed a screenshot, and the others showed another screenshot showing what they saw, her correct name. Only I could see the odd name. It turns out, my friend had this name 10 years ago. It was a real pity, it turns out my friend had had a bad time 10 years ago and had changed her name to get out of a bad situation. She left in tears because I had seen that old name.

For info: I had not seen this friend in the Beta Grid, I doubt she has ever been. I had not even looked up her profile there. I looked up her profile afterwards in the Beta Grid to see if it was the Beta grid that had perhaps caused this issue.

So I ask why did this happen, and how can it be prevented from happening again?
