Ensure that all the code so far is properly tested. There will be more code changes after this, but this gives a baseline test set to ensure I don't mess anything else up.
Some small code changes to fix bugs or adjust functionality.
A GutHub action config was added to run tests, but there seems to be some issues with uv and my config so it is disabled for now. All the tests can be manually run and all pass.
