Notification sounds stop working with more than one conversation #924
Comments
Actually experimenting a bit more with this, it appears that notification sounds work only when there is one single conversation in the notification. It seems to be 100% reproducible that as soon as another conversation enters the notification, sounds stop, and when the notification is swiped off and reset with only one conversation, sounds start working again. Unless I'm missing some variable here, this seems safe to classify as a bug, no? Updating the bug title to match. |
This bug is likely fixed by now. @dolda2000 email us info@xabber.com, we'll send you a link to a (buggy) internal build of Xabber. If it will help with the issue, please, report back. |
Hi, I just wanted to say that I have the exact same problem, a few months ago it was working very well, but I don't remember when and with which update this problem appeared (I would say about 3 versions ago roughly). Andrew would you be kind enough to send me the latest beta version with the fix you may have done in the meantime regarding this matter ? Thank you And by the way, nothing compares to Xabber !! it's simply the best jabber client, I just love it ! :) Thank you again for this great app ! |
@gemboot send email at info@xabber.com. We'll send you a test version. |
It has been some time since I last received a notification sound from Xabber, and I'm not sure why. I've verified many times that I have notifications on, that I receive notification sounds from other programs, that I haven't turned off notification sounds specifically for Xabber, et cetera, so I'm beginning to think that it's some kind of bug.
I also can't say that I remember having done anything special that made them stop, but I have automatic updates turned on for Xabber, so I can't help but suspect that they disappeared along with some update.
I'm not particularly experienced with Android development, so I'm not entirely sure how to debug this, but I'm experienced with programming on other platforms and I also have cursory experience with the basic Android command-line tools, so if there's anything I can do to help debug this, please let me know.
