- The Turing test : A machine is considered to have passed the test if the Machine is able to exhibit intelligent behavior that is indistinguishable from human. The turing test indicates if the machine is more like a human but doesn't mention anything if the machine is intelligent.
- The Chinese room argument: If a machine behaves in an intelligent manner, for example, by passing the Turing test, it doesn't follow that it is intelligent.
