I, like you, am trying to run cava on wsl using winscap.
Everytime i fire up winscap and pass it my parameters winscap 2 48000 24 it dosent complain that it isnt a proper configuration so thats good, but as soon as i play any sound on my host windows machine, it starts throwing all sorts of errors, and even if i pipe it to a cava.fifo file like you had mentioned and pipe cava using cava -p /path/to/cava.fifo cava sees nothing.
Errors are just random glyphs i see, so i tought maybe it is just not properly able to show a raw PCM output as text but cava still hears nothing to visualize.
