- YouTube v17.15.1
- New features in YouTube > Settings > General:
- OLED dark mode (Experimental - might encounter visual bugs): You must set YouTube's appearance to Dark theme before enabling OLED dark mode (not tested on iPad yet).
- Hide HUD messages: hide HUD messages, such as "CC is turned on/off, Video loop is on,..."
- YTAutoFullscreen (PoomSmart): autoplay videos at full screen.
- YTReExplore (PoomSmart): Replace Shorts tab with Explore tab.
- BigYTMiniPlayer (Galactic-dev): bigger miniplayer bar.
Attention:
- If the app crashes when opening uYou's settings, try the version based on YouTube v16.42.3.
- Workaround for missing the video's timestamp in Watch History/Playlist: Go to uYou's settings > Other Settings and Disable "Remove YouTube Ads"
- YTUHD is not stable atm. You might encounter suttering, heat, battery drain..., especially when playing at 2160p (4K) quality.
- It's impossible to fix deep-link (aka Open in the YouTube App). However, there are a few workarounds:
- Safari extension: iOS 15 users can follow this workaround (Safari extension + Userscript): #69
- iOS 14: Open in YouTube shortcut.
- Opener is a paid app from AppStore that allows you to open links from the web in apps.
