wpa_supplicant and hostapd v0.6.x
---------------------------------
Copyright (c) 2002-2007, Jouni Malinen <j@w1.fi> and contributors
All Rights Reserved.
These program is dual-licensed under both the GPL version 2 and BSD
license. Either license may be used at your option.
This package may include either wpa_supplicant, hostapd, or both. See
README file respective subdirectories (wpa_supplicant/README or
hostapd/README) for more details.
Source code files have been moved around in v0.6.x releases and
compared to earlier releases, the programs are now build by first
going to a subdirectory (wpa_supplicant or hostapd) and creating
build configuration (.config) and running 'make' there (for
Linux/BSD/cygwin builds).
Karma patch
---------------------------------
This version is pre-patched to MITM PEAP. The original patches were
downloaded from http://www.foofus.net/?page_id=115. They have been
applied, and this build was tested on Backtrack 5 R2, 32-bit, using
an Alfa 2W USB adapter.
The resulting hashes can be cracked with asleap or
http://code.google.com/p/mschapv2acc/.
Here are the commands used to start (your mileage may vary)
---------------------------------
./hostapd -R -A hostapd.conf
ifconfig at0 up
ifconfig at0 192.168.2.129 netmask 255.255.255.128
route add -net 192.168.2.128 netmask 255.255.255.128 gw 192.168.2.129
dhcpd3 -cf /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf -pf /var/run/dhcp3-server/dhcpd.pid at0
iptables --flush
iptables --table nat --flush
iptables --delete-chain
iptables --table nat --delete-chain
iptables --table nat --append POSTROUTING --out-interface eth0 -j MASQUERADE
iptables --append FORWARD --in-interface at0 -j ACCEPT
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
Example dhcpd.conf:
---------------------------------
ddns-update-style ad-hoc;
default-lease-time 600;
max-lease-time 7200;
