Living in Denmark 🇩🇰

Whether you're new to Denmark or not, finding the right answers can sometimes be challenging. My main struggle has been searching for a place to live 🏠, and over time, this list has grown primarily for that purpose. I believe it's also the main reason why I continue to share it with others. Wishing you good luck! 🍀

In addition to housing, I'm compiling a variety of resources here, including events, useful mobile apps, language tips, and more! While they are mostly related to life in Copenhagen, they can also be relevant to other parts of Denmark. I hope you find them all useful!

They are mostly in Danish, otherwise it's specified 😉

Public Holidays

In Denmark, there are several public holidays during the first half of the year. While your company may not observe all of them, I strongly advise enabling the "Holidays in Denmark" public calendar on Google Calendar. For larger shops and chains, I recommended to check the company's website for accurate information, as the opening hours on Google Maps may not always be up to date.

Nej, there's no Amazon here 🫣 You can still place orders on Amazon.de and have it delivered at your address in Denmark. PriceRunner is a widely used price and product comparison site in Scandinavia.

If you come across a local e-commerce site and you're unsure about its trustworthiness, I recommend looking it up on Trustpilot to see if there are any reviews and what its rating is. Additionally, make sure to check if MobilePay is listed among the supported payment methods, as the company should be registered in Denmark.

It's not over yet. It became a new trend for every building or construction site to have its own website. Typically, these websites list the currently available apartments or house openings.
