Payload Cloud Mongodb Backup and Restore

I'm a Payload Cloud customer (Pro plan) and it's unclear what the status is for database backup and restore functionality. In the Cloud admin portal it mentions:

Backups, migration, and more is on its way. For now, if you need to take a backup, you can use commands like mongodump and mongorestore using your connection string above.

I've made a script that I run locally that utilizes mongodump and mongorestore but this isn't sufficient for a production environment and I'm hoping I don't have to reinvent the wheel as this is a feature of Mongo Atlas which Payload uses. It would be ideal to have automated backups that could easily be restored.

I found a blog post from 2023 that states:

Right now, MongoDB Atlas manages automated backups for you, so backups do exist out of the box already today. But we want to expose them to you via our UI, to allow you to manage and create your own backups at your discretion. We also want to extend the "backup" idea to connect to files as well, so that when you take a backup, or one is scheduled, we give you a tidy little package containing your DB and your files, ready to go for use somewhere else.

which is promising but is coming up to two years old now.

On the Payload Cloud pricing page it's also mentioned that the Standard plan comes with "On-demand backup" and the Pro plan comes with "Automatic backups" which doesn't seem accurate.

Can I get any clarification on where this feature stands? Thanks!
