Diff mode button "active" state is too subtle

The inactive and active states of the "±" diff mode button are very similar. I think it would be better to use some color when active (not just a more opaque version of the main text color). This would help make the feature more discoverable — or more specifically, for people who turn it on accidentally, it would make it more obvious what happened.
