Build your foundational knowledge of GitHub topics, tools, and concepts with our GitHub Foundations Exam prep course. Over the next five weeks, we’ll prepare you to pass the GitHub Foundations certification exam with ease. As a thank you for participating in these discussions, we’ll be awarding 25 GitHub Certification exam vouchers to members who engage with us during the course.

This course will be broken up into four weeks, each with a specific topic, curated resources, additional exam questions from our Hubber experts, Q&A, and the potential for office hours with GitHub staff. You can expect to be exam-ready by May, just in time for the end of the academic year 🎒.

Getting GitHub certified is a resounding endorsement that validates your skills, credibility, trust, and knowledge of the technologies and developer tools that are used by more than 100 million developers worldwide.

What is the GitHub Foundations certification?

How do I join the prep course?

At the beginning of each week, we’ll post a new module in this discussion with:

• A Q&A discussion
• Practice questions to test your skills

Week Three (April 14-18): Repositories 📦

• Manage repository changes by using PRs on GitHub
• Search and organize repository history by using GitHub
• Maintain a secure repository by using GitHub best practices

Week Four (April 21-25): GitHub Features and Open Source 🌐

• Code with GitHub Codespaces
• Manage your work with GitHub Projects
• Contribute to an open-source project on GitHub
• Communicate effectively on GitHub using Markdown

Week Five (April 28-May 2): Enterprise Essentials 💼

• Manage an Inner Source program by using GitHub
• Introduction to GitHub administration
• Authenticate and authorize user identities on GitHub

The exam prep sessions are discussions here in the GitHub Community! 😊 So each week they'll post a new module with links and resources for us to study, make our own research, and them contribute in the comments

There're no directly live instructors sessions... but sometimes the resources may include links to live workshops like Microsoft Ignite. Also, if you have any questions during your research, you can always ask in the comments and there will be people to help you! 😉
