PHP certification

Currently, there's a gap in the availability of an updated PHP certification program. Zend offered a PHP certification, but as far as I know, this certification hasn't been updated since 2017 (and covered PHP 7.1). This presents an opportunity for the PHP Foundation to step in and provide a fresh, up-to-date certification process that reflects the latest advancements and best practices in PHP development.

Certification programs are highly sought after in the developer community, as they provide a standardized way to assess and recognize skill levels. By offering an official PHP certification, the PHP Foundation can meet this demand while also generating revenue to support its mission and activities.

zend forklift certification, when?

Is the cerification from Zend about PHP or about PHP in/and Zend Framework (Laminas)?

However, I believe the official certification from the PHP Foundation would have more prestige + many would be happy to support PHP Foundation at the same time.
On the other hand PHP Foundation would increase it's budget to develop PHP even more.

@javaDeveloperKid The Zend certification is for the PHP language specifically. We've been offering it since 2005. (We've offered Zend Framework certification in the past as well, but it was always separate from the PHP cert.)

Personally, while I think it would be great to have this from the foundation, I also think it would dilute the focus of the foundation at this time. There are significant costs associated with developing a certification and providing it to test takers (there needs to be a secure platform for doing so, which costs ongoing money to host). Having a third party do it at this time makes more sense in terms of focus and effort.
