I am the author oft most of the scripts code. It originates from Freifunk Berlin falter-packages repo. I am strictly against adding this to OpenWrt. Its Berlin specific code that must not be in OpenWrt.

Sorry, I wanted to write a general open wireless api daemon removing all freifunk speicifc stuff. Actually, I wanted to write it as C code. The daemon already had issues with the owm.sh and I wanted to modify and test it. This was just a draft and a lot of things were missing including some reference to the falter github. For me it was just easier to use the json code as starting point to directly come up with the correct json implementation.

I deleted now the part that originates from falter berlin and will completely rewrite that part.

If you plan to write a generalised solution, you should defnitely have a look at: freifunk/openwifimap-api#13
