Since MMOCR was released publicly nearly a year ago, we have received much precious feedback and contribution from our community, which helped the project get better and better. Still, we have many cool ideas constantly popping up from the community that we barely have a chance to implement, making us feel obligated to bring passionate contributors together and get these ideas off the ground.

Now, we are excited to announce our first Slack group for contributors!
If you are interested in joining our Slack group and working together, please send a brief introduction of you and your interests to mmocr@openmmlab.com. Here are things you can expect by joining the group:

• Instant support from our team: Don't worry when you get stuck by technical stuff or resource shortage. Talk to us and we'll help you as much as we can.
• Involvement in the development cycle: We will regularly post recent development plans that propose potential features to Slack. You are welcome to come by and leave thoughts there. If some of them happen to match your interest, let us know and we can work on it together!
• A place for developers to make connections: Slack group is also an excellent place for like-minded people to hang around. You may gain more than just programming experience!

It's also worth mentioning that all our contributors are eligible to win a series of awards - OpenMMLab selects distinguished contributors monthly and annually (check out the brightest contributors of 2021), and prepares some unique gifts for them. Every contribution matters!
