Feature Request

We propose to introduce support for customizable clinical ordersets within the CARE system to enhance decision-making and standardize care processes. This feature should include a mechanism to trigger ordersets based on specific clinical criteria or diagnoses.

Implementation Details

  • Triggerable Ordersets: Ordersets should be automatically triggerable based on predefined conditions such as patient diagnosis or lab results.
  • Customization: Allow customization of ordersets to cater to the specific protocols of various healthcare facilities or departments.

Documentation Requirement

Before any development begins, the contributor must:

  • Create a detailed documentation draft in the docs repository.
  • Outline the proposed implementation strategy and the extent of customization possible.
  • Highlight how ordersets will be managed, triggered, and maintained within the system.

Example Orderset: Management of Acute Asthma in Adults

  • Medications: High-dose inhaled corticosteroids, Oral steroids, Rescue inhaler (Albuterol)
  • Diagnostics: Peak flow measurement, Blood gases
  • Observations: Monitor respiratory rate, oxygen saturation
  • Instructions: Patient education on inhaler technique, Asthma action plan review

This example should be detailed in the documentation to serve as a template for further customization.

Note: If you are interested in working on this feature, please indicate your interest in this issue. Ensure you review the necessary guidelines on our contribution page and prepare the required documentation as outlined above.
