Alpine version tracking

I'm curious how XX-alpine tag is tracking Alpine updates. Does it immediately jump to the newer version, for example from 3.16 to 3.17, when it is added to the repo's config?

If someone will be searching, 3.17 breaks this Phantomjs 2.1.1 Docker image.

Yes, the unpinned version will update to the latest when it's added. You can specify the Alpine version in the tag name, but only the latest 2 versions are supported on official image builds
