What is this?

In this repository is the code associated with the following paper:

Brake N, Mancino M, Yan Y, Shimomura S, Kubo Y, Khadra A and Bowie D (2022). "Closed-state inactivation of cardiac, skeletal, and neuronal sodium channels is isoform specific." J. Gen Physiol 154 (7). https://doi.org/10.1085/jgp.202112921.

The functions in the folder figures will generate every figure presented in the manuscript. All the data necessary to generate these figures are included in the folder data. For raw data, please contact the corresponding author (Dr. Derek Bowie).

Acknowledgements

I completed the work for this project during my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Anmar Khadra and in collaboration with Dr. Derek Bowie at McGill Univeristy. The electrophysiology data used for fitting was collected by Adamo Mancino, who at the time was a master's student in the Bowie lab. Figure 3 of the paper presents voltage-clamp fluormetry data, which was collected by Adamo Mancino and Yuhao Yan while visting the lab of Dr. Yoshihiro Kubo at the National Institute for Physiological Sciences in Japan.
