I've run into several issues while figuring out how to make this script work. I'm listing them here for future reference if anyone runs into this.
I was unable to get the export to save directly to the new machine. I tried configuring shared folders, and as permissive permissions as I could, but it would always error on the export saying it couldn't write to the destination.
I had to export locally, and then manually copy over to the destination machine.
There should be more warning that the password for the imported account will be modified according to config
After import I ran into issue where windows popped up asking for the user account's original password to unlock some files.
I forget the exact message, if I can find it in my history I'll update this.
It never named the files that needed unlocking
It refused every password I tried: old password, updated password, empty password.
I hit cancel, and it never came up again. I still have no idea what was/is locked in this way.
It would be nice if there were a built in option to copy files from All Users. It was somewhat confusing after import to realize that a lot of items from the old computer on "my desktop" were actually on the "all users desktop"
