Although it is good that writer can write just those characters s/he wants, it would be great to have extra whitespace removal: leading and trailing whitespaces, and unnecessary extra spaces between words.

We could make a button to turn trimming on/off. When turning on, the buffer is first trimmed. Then, in normalizeNode() we trim the paragraph text while writing.
