I'm looking for help on getting readings from a tuya device. I initially tried with localtuya and now tuya-local but sensors for current, voltage and power only update when I have the 'Tuya Smart' app open. Either I need to grant the switches access to the internet, then I can select the WiFi circuit breaker and view the sensor readings via the app with my phone being connected to any network that provides internet. Alternatively I completely firewall the device from having any internet access whatsoever, including DNS queries and can then see the sensor readings when my phone is in the same network as what the WiFI circuit breakers connect to.
In both cases, HomeAssistant starts tracking the sensor data but this immediately ceases whenever I close the app or disconnect my phone.
Switch state continues to work, as does editing the timer and changing the default state (on, off or memory).
My tuya-local integration appears to be completely local, when I block internet for the switches, restart them and then interact with them via HomeAssistant. The senor readings are the only part that don't update, any clue if I can run tinytuya somewhere to make the switches think that the app is running, so that they report utilisation?
PS: The issue is not specific to tuya-local, as tinytuya and local-tuya yield the same result. Herewith the link to the custom device type, based almost entirely on the
cbi_astute_outdoor_smartswitch
device.#1150
