What is LFX

LFX is a suite of tools built by the Linux Foundation to facilitate every aspect of open source development. The toolkit operationalizes the organization’s proven methodology for transforming projects into category leaders, providing direct support to projects and empowering open source developers to write better, more secure code and grow sustainable ecosystems. With 11 tools currently available and more on the roadmap for early next year, the LFX Platform is one of the most comprehensive platforms built specifically for the open technology ecosystem.

Individual Dashboard

Individual Dashboard (also known as My Profile) is your self-service hub for all of your open source activity. Build your personal community profile, manage credentials and contact details, display badges for completing certifications and other accomplishments, and enjoy a seamless login experience across the major systems used by the Linux Foundation projects. Most importantly, this allows you to control your data, share what you want to share, and keep private what you wish.

Organization Dashboard

The Organization Dashboard provides a powerful dashboard to the companies or organizations that assists you to envision a complex data into a easy to read and meaningful data. The Organization Dashboard enables you to gather, combine, and organize key project data from a single console. The Organization Dashboard provides dashboards, charts, and widgets which will analyze and displays Key Performance Indicators (KPI), metrics and key data points related to the management of your projects.

Project Control Center

Project Control Center (PCC) is a platform that allows project administrators to set up the projects when they get associated with The Linux Foundation. You can set up the projects to use various services that are provided by The Linux Foundation. PCC assists you in onboarding an open source project with great ease. Project Control Center helps you get started quickly by providing all the support that you need with self-service configuration for governance, membership, IT, developer and collaboration tools, documentation, and community roles.

Mentorship

Mentorship makes it easier than ever to pair promising open source talent with experienced mentors. Invest in building a stronger and more diverse community of qualified developers and engineers.

The Mentorship platform facilitates a structured remote learning environment to new open source developers. Experienced project maintainers and contributors use the platform to mentor aspiring individuals and help them become contributors to the open source community.

Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding makes it easy for individuals and organizations to donate, providing a neutral and trusted platform managed by the Linux Foundation. Projects receive 100% of donations and manage their own funds.

Security

The LFX Security tool provides security to the open source code. The LFX Security tool provides the following functionalities with respect to the open source project code:

  • Vulnerabilities Detection - To detect vulnerabilities in your code and provide fixes and recommendations to those vulnerabilities.
  • Code Secrets - Detect secrets such as passwords, credentials, keys, access tokens which might help hackers to hack your code.
  • Non Inclusive Language - Detects non inclusive words used in your code which might hurt and treat people unfairly.
