Move the log in position:fixed, hide it by default and move the show link to a corner of the screen (configurable). The link changes color if messages are added while the log is hidden and returns to normal color when shown. The last added message (possibly truncated) could be shown next to the show link when the log is hidden.

This will allow making WM install buttons and controls more liberally within wiki pages.
