The extension is using a monospaced font. So it's something else. Also you should restart gnome session or machine after first installation. And you could adjust some displaying options in the preferences. If it's nothing working for you try maybe some symbolic interpretation of the system activity.
I think he means - if Display shows MHz instead of GHz - then there is a gap between "number" and Mhz,
but no gap between "number" and GHz. example: ("705 MHz" <==> 3.54GHz)
This GAP causes "jumping".
This makes it hard to read. I guess a monospaced font would fix this.
