5: Certifications and applied skills
Currently, the only Microsoft Fabric exam that you need knowledge about database projects for is the 'Microsoft Certified: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering Associate' certification.
You must pass the DP-700 exam in order to gain this certification. Which is currently in beta.
I published a checklist for the DP-700 beta exam for Microsoft Fabric to help prepare for the beta version of this exam.
Alternatively, you can look to gain the ‘Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate‘ certification. You must pass the DP-600 exam in order to gain this certification.
As you can see in the study guide you need Data Warehouse for this exam, along with knowledge in other areas. However, at this moment in time you do not require knowledge about how to perform CI/CD for Data Warehouses using Database Projects.
I published a checklist for the DP-600 exam for Microsoft Fabric to help prepare for this exam. In addition, I highly recommend using the Fabric Career Hub.
Alternatively, you can look to complete the applied skill to implement a data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric. To show you have expert knoeledge in this specific area.
For those interested in GitHub certifications, GitHub has now made a GitHub Actions certification available. To help with this, there is a GitHub Actions collection available in Microsoft Learn.
