Folder Monitoring / Automation

Hello - thank you so much for this wonderful software! It is an enormous help. I was hoping there may be a way to add some sort of monitoring solution. In my perfect world:

• Point to a folder via settings.
• When new audio records are detected (I believe python has the watchdog service for this) the transcription will automatically begin using preset options (auto speaker detection etc)
• Once complete the transcription will output to a preset format (noscribe transcript, plain text etc)

Again thank you for this great software program and I am not taking your hard work for granted! I appreciate you!

Thanks, that's an interesting idea. I will keep it in the back of my mind (and on my list of ideas for future improvements). Automating noScribe in one way or the other is something I want to look into in the upcoming months.

I love NOscribe. I use it a lot. I also am waiting of a batch function of .. folder monitoring (nice). But till that moment i made a script via (macrorecorder.com) so i can "bulk" process 20 video's in one run ;).

Nice. Can you share it? Or is it so specific to your machine (screen resolution, etc.), that sharing it makes no sense?

I agree that a batch function is very desirable. I will work on that soon.

I show a part of the script.... it is custom made.... i do need to prepare text files from 1 to 20 ... with the filename (no extension) and this i use the fill out name video and name VTT file. Then i fill the starttime from a text file (sometime intro etc).

And then the "realmagic" comes from MarcroRecoder... i use a "programmed" mouse click to hit "Start".... and yes Macrorecorder will monitor the "Cancel" button to change to "Start" again.. and then the script will fill up the fields with content of file 2 file 3 etc.... And after one night NOscribe have processed 20 video's into 20 VTT's and no manual clicks needed....

Thanks again for your hard work on this project. It’s saved me hours and hours of time. Looking forward to these planned features - folder monitoring and batch support would open some neat workflows and automation around cloud storage. I appreciate all of your time and effort with this project!

When noScribe will look to a folder... video is added and noScribe does automaticly does the transcript could it be possible to generated the transcript (html) and also the VTT?

aTrain (another AI transcript tool) generated after the transcript the transcript file AND the VTT.

Otherwise you have to make a "choice" for file export before you drop the video in a folder??!?

eureka.... ;) ... just export the transcript as a HTML file... and open it with noScribe editor ... and .. Save as TXT of VTT ... the HTML file can afterwards be used as source for VTT :) :).. Just tested it to be sure 👍
