Thoughts on the new Kanata logo?

Pink is my favourite colour, so it must be pink. Other than that, suggestions are welcome! I'm not much of an artist - I put this together in Inkscape in a couple of hours.

The light pink with white pairing yields low contrast and makes the K harder to read. If pink is your favorite color and you want to keep it, you may want to choose a complementary color on the color wheel, e.g. pastel green, or turquoise, to complement and possibly a tertiary color to compliment the primary and secondary colors.

Another thought is to use primitive shapes to convey the idea of a key without drawing a clipart-sy button. From a branding perspective, this helps with having a unique look that's easy to recognize.

Additionally, it would be fun to integrate "village" or "settlement" into the logo while keeping it simple.
