Is it possible to wait until the cmd has finished running

I have this simple config

I want to clear the primary clipboard using wl-clip and xsel whenever mmid is pressed (to disable middle click pasting). However, sometimes the middle click registers in the application before those tools are done doing there job.

Is it possible to wait until the cmd has finished running, then send the mmid?

You can use macro with delay:
nommidpaste (multi (cmd sh -c "wl-copy -fpc; xsel -npc") (macro 1000 mmid))

cmd-output-keys should also execute synchronously. Just make sure nothing is typed. You could even make the cmd output something like (10) to add 10ms delay.
