Building a testing execution engine

Hi,

I'm building a testing execution engine for frameworks and would love to have your thoughts and guidance on few things.

I've figured out mapping frameworks, collecting evidences etc. However, I'm stuck writing automation tests which can go to particular cloud platform collect resources data and tell back which resource is compliant or non compliant against a framework.

I wanted to check with your ideas as to how the test automation can be done? are there any open source platforms or we have to build a test framework from scratch.

I'll be happy to discuss in detail with you and see if you're up for a partnership.
