Circa 2009 I started a meeting at my job meant to provide a forum for the development team to discuss ideas, code, architecture, etc. I called it "dev chit chat" and scheduled it for 10 AM CST. This chat system is to encourage the initial idea, providing a forum for developers to chit chat about ideas, code, architecture and other development concerns.
I open sourced the chat code to give a common code base with which we can try out principles and ideas.
