Input - output lag on macOS Sequoia 15.1 arm64 #1233
Comments
Thank you for your feedback! 🙏 Arnaud (@isontheline) will respond within a few hours. In the meantime, please feel free to add any additional information that may help us resolve or improve WebSSH. |
Hello @ondrejvaroscak 👋 WebSSH isn't a native app so will be slower than macOS terminal. I have upgraded xterm.js library inside WebSSH on the latest beta release : Could you give it a try? |
i understand, but this lag is new, it has not been there. it is something I experienced in last days. The version in TestFlight you sent me is somehow faster, but the lag is still considerately bigger than other terminals (omitting the native macOS teminal). |
I will try to improve WebSSH over upcoming releases, can't promise anything as WebSSH has always been the slowest terminal app of the App Store when dealing with realtime flows |
Could you try the latest beta release please? |
Bug description
I am using WebSSH since year, so I know it is and always has been a good performer. However since few days it began to lag on SSH connection to all my Ubuntu 24.04 servers. I can't tell about other hosts, since I only use Ubuntu 24.04.
The lag is on both input and output, sometime rendering writing configs in nano or going through logs with cat less unusable.
I have isolated the problem by using hosts on different hosting platform and network locations. I have also alternatively used macOS built-in terminal, and other terminal solutions as well as ssh connections between those hosts. WebSSH is only one that is introducing the input / output lag.
The lag is present on both my macOS machines, both M1 arm64 running latest Sequoia.
WebSSH Version 28.0.1436 Pro
Reinstalling the app brought nothing.
