Buying a Domain

Description

This details how to purchase a domain name on Name.com.

Steps

  1. Visit the Domain Name Search page on a web browser. Log into your Name.com account if you have not already.

  2. In the Domain Name Search page, use the provided search bar to look for a domain name.

  3. From the list of available domains, add a domain name of your choice to your cart by clicking its corresponding Add To Cart button. Click the Cart (Checkout) button once it has been added.

  4. Next, you will be presented with many options to add to your purchase. You may ignore them and click the CONTINUE TO CHECKOUT button at the bottom of the page.

  5. On the Cart (Checkout) page, expand the DURATION dropdown corresponding to your domain and select the duration of your domain registration (i.e. 1 year). Click the Next Step: Payment button.

  6. In the Payment page, select a payment method in the list of PAYMENT OPTIONS. Depending on your chosen payment method, you may need to fill in some additional information if it is your first time. Check all of the required boxes and click the Complete Order button.

  7. Once your payment method and transaction have been verified and completed, you will be taken to the Confirmation page to confirm your domain purchase.

Update Authoritative Nameserver

  1. Visit the My Domains dashboard page on a web browser. Log into your Name.com account if you have not already.

  2. From the Domains list, select the link on the name of the domain you wish to update.

  3. Within the Domain Details section, click the Manage Nameservers link under the NAMESERVERS column.

  4. In the Manage Nameservers form, you may Edit or Delete any of the existing nameservers by clicking on their respective buttons.

  5. To add in a new nameserver, simply fill in the intended nameserver in the provided field and click the Add Nameserver button to submit it.

  6. Click the Save Changes button to apply your changes.
