HOW TO CREATE A NESTED CONFIGURATION (eNEATL36 + BIZoo case)

  • This wiki is a guide to create a nested configuration with one nest. This is complementary to the IMMERSE deliverable 6.1, which contains many additional informations: https://github.com/immerse-project/eNEATL36-BIzoo_Demonstator/blob/main/DOC/PDFs/RAPPORT_IMMERSE_D6p1.pdf. In particular, we recommend to read the part 'II.C : Setup of the nested configuration' of the deliverable.

  • To perform a nested simulation, several input files are needed. Some are:

    • specific to parent: the boundary and tidal forcing files.
    • specific to the child : the AGRIF_FixedGrids.in file (see sec. 2)
    • different for the parent and the child configurations (but are needed in both): the namelists, the coordinate files (domain_cfg.nc), the runoffs and the atmospheric weights.
    • identical for both parent & child configurations: the atmospheric forcings.

  • Page 2 & 3: explains the creation of the AGRIF_FixedGrids.in file and of the coordinate files

  • Page 4 explains the creation of the runoffs
